TIMES LIKE THIS...
Sitting around the office waiting on Show #12 of Season 2 to render out so I can send it to The Sportsman Channel, I realized how that waterfowl season is once again creeping up on us. Stepped outside this morning to some very welcome and brisk temperatures. It's times like this that make it very difficult to be inside editing shows instead of outside preparing for the good times to come this fall! But while editing this show together, I realized how fortunate most of us are to be able to look forward to the good times and know they’re coming, and how we sometimes take it for granted. Not everyone is so lucky!
"Turn the Tides" is the title for this episode. The Migration Nation crew was allowed the privilege of tagging along on a very special hunt with some very special people on a youth hunt in Mississippi. We hunted with four of the boys from the Big Oak Christian Children's Home in Alabama and the founder, John Croyle. John is the father of Brody Croyle, All-American quarterback at the University of Alabama and current NFL quarterback. This is one of the hardest shows I have ever had to assemble. It seemed that nothing I could do in the edit process would fully represent the courage of the young men involved, or the selflessness of the ones who took them in and made it possible. If you have children, and love them, then you might need a tissue at the end of this one!
John Croyle, you’re my hero!
